This was a strange night!
Two abiding memories:
1. As part of our rider (i.e. the refreshments that you get as the band playing at a gig) we had been given a crate of Coca-Cola. They had mostly been ignored, as the band had been much more interested in the beers provided. A roadie, probably one of Erasure's, came into the dressing room and asked "Do you want any coke?" To which I replied, in all innocence "No thanks. We got a whole crate of the stuff already and have hardly touched it..."
2.. Erasure's singer, Andy Bell, was wearing tracksuit bottoms and seemingly no underpants. Boy did he swing...
