(This was issued to the press early in our career - setting out our aims/beliefs or lack of them!)

The June Brides...
are four, though sometimes five ... are a pop group who care about what they are doing - are not spokesmen - are not a product - are confused.
There are four people in this group, each with individual ideas, drives and goals. To write a coherent group policy would be to lie to you and to devalue our own personalities. We are fortunate/unfortunate in having no Martin Fry, Mark E. Smith or even Jimmy Pursey (!) to tell us what to do...we can but follow our common instincts. Of late it has become fashionable for a band to have a set of ideas, almost a manifesto, which are marketed alongside their music ... I do not trust these people, I do not enjoy being condescended to by them; anybody who has all the answers has failed to understand the complexity of the problems.
So where does that leave us? Always ready to say what we think (If anybody should be interested enough to ask), but without a pre-planned package of ideas to put to you.
The June Brides are ...
Ace Bass.
Bees Guitar, vocal.
Chris Drums.
Phil Vocal, guitar.
Frank Viola.
We formed in May 1983, each of us having played in various unknown bands around the country. We've played in diverse venues with many diverse groups- a practice we wish to continue (There's little point in only playing to the converted). The June Brides play spiky pop!
